Our

History

Founded in 2017 by Helen Disney, Unblocked has quickly become a recognised authority in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space in the UK. Helen’s vision was to create a platform that demystifies emerging technologies for business leaders, enabling them to explore new opportunities for investment, growth, and social impact.

Under her leadership, Unblocked has curated and hosted numerous high-profile events, including the UK’s first major Blockchain Alternative Investment Conference. Helen has shared her expertise at prestigious venues such as the United Nations General Assembly and Chatham House. Her accolades include being listed as a Top 100 RegTech Influencer and being featured in the Financial Technologist’s inaugural Fintech Founders 50.

Prior to founding Unblocked, Helen established and ran a social enterprise for 15 years, connecting thought leaders and policy experts across more than 40 countries to share best practices in public policy-making.
